Wee ones forest school

The Care Collective is a proud sponsor of the Wee Ones Forest School, beginning programming Summer 2026.

From June 9th to July 7th 2026, Wee Ones will meet on Tuesdays in Legion Park from 10:30am-12. This program is specifically designed for children ages 0-6, inspired by forest preschools and experiential education models. We’ll explore the rich and magical ecology of High Knob, engage in sensory play and learning, and build confidence in the natural environment. Caregivers will participate with their children and learn techniques to continue building a love of nature with their children at home. Daily activities might include nature walks, plant identification, animal observation, nature-based crafts, or free play with other children.

Forest school will meet rain or shine, and we encourage participants to obtain gear like rain boots, rain bibs, and closed toed shoes to keep participants comfortable no matter the weather. There is a covered shelter on site in case of intense rain, but always expect children to fully experience the day’s weather and dress appropriately!

This program is pay-what-you-can, meaning that all are welcome to participate regardless of their ability to pay, and payments of any amount are accepted. The cost of this program is approximately $100/child. Any contributions your family can make towards this amount helps ensure this program continues!

Registration for summer programming is now open!
